Uninstall Windows Media Player 10 and Start Enjoying Your Media Again

Windows Media Player 10 has been full of bugs from Microsoft since they offered it as a download from their site. Windows Media Player 9 was nice and simple. Windows Media Player 10 is way too complex and feature-rich that it has taken away from the simpleness of version 9 and ruined itself. Another great media player is Winamp but we won't go into that right now.

If you have installed Windows Media Player 10, you can roll back to the version of the Player that was on your computer before installing Windows Media Player 10.

To roll back from Windows Media Player 10 to a previous version, do the following:

  • In Control Panel (Category View), click Add or Remove Programs.
  • Click Remove a program

Now do one of the following: If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 10 (in the Windows Updates section), and then click Change/Remove.

If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.

As of writing this many people have found bugs in WMP10 that make it unavailble for common audio and video files. If you find that WMP10 is crashing or giving you errors and you cant play your media files. Uninstall it with these directions and stay happy.

Be like the rest of the world and install Winamp.

Ballet Dance Wear

Most can agree that ballet is a beautiful variety of dance, but it is also a delicate art form. The performers are often times telling a story with their movement, and the costumes, or clothing they wear play an integral part in the unfolding of the story. During practice, the ballet dance wear is usually less delicate and more practical, however, during recitals, and performances, dancers can go on stage in anything from an all black body suit, to very complicated skirts, tops, and leggings! The type of dance known as En Pointe, is unique to ballet and has very specific shoes that resemble classic ballet slippers until you see the toe. There it is flattened and very sturdy so that a dancer can stand literally on their tip toes. Dance wear has certainly come a long way and there are several varieties offered to fit any needs.

Rehearsal or practice for ballet doesn't usually require full on costuming unless it is a dress rehearsal. Common attire for dancers in class is for girls; a leotard, tights, and your slippers. For guys it can be the same with the addition of shorts as well. Leotards are a one piece body suit that can resemble a bathing suit with or without sleeves. Students attending standard or beginner ballet class will also wear their ballet slippers to dance in. However, En Pointe classes require a dancer to own and wear point shoes. It takes a lot of practice and breaking in to get used to point shoes. Performers often will go through a period of time where their toes are extremely blistered and sore from learning to dance on point.

When it comes to recitals and performances the possibilities are endless and it truly depends on the story being told. It's common to see a flowing or exaggerated skirt on women because it helps to signify their feminine qualities, and can often give the illusion of flying. Costuming is important because ballet is a very movement oriented dance, and the clothing has to be conducive to running, jumping, and it just needs to be flexible.

The vast array of ballet dance wear is available all over the world and on the internet. Whether it's for a performance, practice, or class, there is no doubt when it comes to the shoes that they need to be of quality. Ballet shoes are one of the single most important elements to one's wardrobe. If the shoes are poor quality, then there is a good chance for the dancer to injure themselves or someone else.

Making Business Presentations that Will Make You BIG MONEY! - Entertain em, Make 'Em Laugh

I once heard that to make a presentation that would make you lots of money you had to do at least three things: 1. get into people's heads by having them open their ears to what you are saying, 2. Get into their hearts so that there is some emotional connections, and then 3. Get into their wallets with the sale.

If people are sleeping while you're punching the buttons or clicking on the next item for them to watch, they won't be buying anything at the end of your presentation. If you are too technical you'll be forgetting that the person writing the check is still human and you need a human connection if you are expecting a human to buy, not the computer.

Some people are good at getting the process of the sale started, but lack the skills to get the deals to happen quickly without many more visits to the customer or additional presentations. Money is lost along the way and money is spent with way too much effort, for poor results.

You must get you audience's attention quickly. They must want to hear or see more from the beginning. People are spoiled by the instantaneous world we live in. You can avoid connecting with people for lots of things by sending them text messages and faxes. You can break-up with someone in voicemail or e-mail.

It's getting scary, they can go to the computer screen and just delete us. Try something new, going back to the basics to making some human connections because they are fewer of these every day. People can't even get listened to. If you call just about any big business in America, there's a voice recognition robot or something that responds to what they think they heard you say. We are desperate for a person to talk to who will just understand us and consider our feelings.

Make a presentation for people and see what happens to your income.

Is Protecting Your Company's Data A Lost Cause?

The technologies that make todays businesses more efficient and effective also make them more vulnerable to threats. Information security can be a constant struggle for corporations as they fight to keep ahead of the ever-changing computer data security hazards.

Companies suffer data leaks as a result of anything from a stolen laptop to hackers to stolen paper records. According to the 2006 Cost of Data Breach Study from The Ponemon Institute, data breaches cost companies an average total of $4.7 million, or $182 per customer record. Companies with a poor data protection solution can not only run into legal trouble due to strict data security laws, but when data leaks occur, most corporations can run into image and public relations problems brought on by the scrutiny.

So what can you do to make your computer data security more effective? Here are a few actions you can take to make sure your data protection solutions are always in tip-top shape.

Evaluate often. Frequently assess your computer data securitys functionality and find other data protection solutions to cover any vulnerable aspects. Additionally, you should establish a data security policy with frequent audits so your company can keep its security solution up-to-date.

Implement and enforce password policies. Ensure that your employees have strong passwords that include the appropriate amount of letters, numbers and special characters. As part of the system, set parameters that force your employees to change their passwords regularly, as this will help maintain system security.

Watch over your VPN. If you have any employees working from a remote location, keep in mind that these users can collect viruses or malware on their unprotected home computers, which means those threats could eventually skip over your network. So if your employees do work remotely, make sure that they are working from security-protected, company-issued laptops.

Monitor your wireless. After you secure wi-fi access points, you should continue to keep informed of the risks. Some data thieves use a trick called the evil twin where they create a fake wireless network that has a name very similar to yours in an effort to trick workers into logging onto this impostor network where its possible to get the users login information.

Hack your own wireless network. Hire an external auditor to conduct a penetration test on your network Though it sounds odd, hacking into your own network gives you a hackers view of your network and is probably the most effective way to find out what your data protection solutions may lack.

Always encrypt your data. No matter where the data is being physically stored, using strong cryptography is imperative when protecting sensitive data.

Delete unused data. Collect the data you need and place it in a secure system, but once it is superfluous, make sure you delete it completely.

If you pay close attention to your computer data security solutions and see that nothing is slipping through the cracks, you will have a much lower risk of your data getting into the wrong hands saving your company from the consequences of public scrutiny and liability costs.
